Thanks to Sean + the rest of the Daytrotter crew for being awesome.

VISIT TO THE LA RIVER

While the band was on tour they stopped off to do an impromptu session with PacSun in LA. Check out the video, we think it turned out great and they had fun hanging/meeting the staff. It was an amazing tour and they can’t wait to be back on the road.

While we plan our next US trip we gear up to head over to the UK and EU for a tour with Cymbals Eat Guitars, as well as some radio and publicity stops in France and Netherlands. We’ll have some exciting news coming up, so make sure to check back. In the meantime enjoy the video and we’ll hopefully see our NY friends and fans out on December 18th at Brooklyn Bowl.

NORMAN, OK: A Thorough Recap

Nachos. Chili Cheese Nachos. Chicken Cheese Nachos. Too many nachos. We had no idea Bison Witches Bar would make their servings so big. They were wonderful, but we ordered too much. At least there were some post-show leftovers.

Just before that bout of over-eating, we had taken a look inside Guestroom Records where our album was on the listening station! Exciting stuff.

Then it was off to the wonderfully DIY “micro venue”, Opolis. Andy and Marian were incredibly inviting. After loading our gear in–and rushing over to the CVS to get some new D batteries for the Q-Chord–we hopped (read: crammed) into a green 1977 VW Vanagon out back for a VDub Session:

Thanks so much to the crew (and safe driver!) for making that session a very memorable experience. we’d do it again in a second…

Our show at Opolis with Peter Wolf Crier was a lot of fun, as well, mostly thanks to the great people in the crowd. For a thorough recap of the show and a heaping helping of behind the scenes insight, check out this post on OKC.NET!

SO BAD AT BLOGGING

oh man, we are so bad at keeping up with this thing. we’re on the home stretch of our US tour… when we get back, we’ll have some serious recapping to do. for now, there’s this from A.V. Club (Chicago):

Spacey art and the rustic, “nature-man” look—it’s been done. But at least Milagres has a sense of humor about it. With a Cat-turned-Falkor music video made by the fine people behind the website Everything Is Terrible and press photos shamelessly mocking frontman Kyle Wilson’s recent, life-threatening mountaineering accident, they go from another eye-roll indie band to a likable bunch of pals. After releasing Glowing Mouth on Portland’s lady-run record label Kill Rock Stars this September, Milagres is now embarking on its second tour in six months.

…and this mention in LA Times from the KCRW Halloween Masquerade:

One of the evening’s early revelations was Milagres, a Brooklyn-based band that deserves to find a wide audience for its ethereal, haunting compositions such as “Halfway.”

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/music_blog/2011/10/mariachi-el-bronx-dengue-fever-make-kcrw-halloween-party-a-scream.html

also, we’ve recently begun to see someone new. they’re called 98.7 FM in Los Angeles, and our first couple of dates have gone really well. we even filmed the first one:

you can read and watch more in their New Music Report: http://www.987fm.com/pages/newmusicreports.html?article=9323413

…and now a LONG drive (1700 miles!!!) to Chicago over the next few days for our show at Beat Kitchen on Thursday, November 3rd!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN (click to see some of our best costumes)!

-E
